Day Three of Bali

I'm a fan of funny financial comparisons:

"JOHANNESBURG, 4 December 2007 (IRIN) - Industrialised countries have only paid about US$163 million towards helping the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) adapt to global warming - less than what Canadians spent on hair conditioner last year - says a new report by the UK-based development agency, Oxfam. But less than $10 million of this has been dispensed so far, the UN Development Programme's Human Development Report 2007/2008 pointed out."
The World Bank says we'll need billions of dollars to help developing countries that are or will be affected by climate change deal with the loss of land, agriculture and industry. Several island nations have already developed plans for evacuation. I believe now would be a good time to panic.

Australia signed the Kyoto Protocol, by the way, which leaves the U.S. all by ourselves in the 'cranky industrialized nations that could care less about the greater good' category. Oh for a new administration I dream of daily!
